Dear Colleagues

I am pleased to announce and confirm that the Business School will be hosting a very special event later in the academic year.

Inaugural Sports MARKETING Symposium Thursday June 17th at Northampton Business School - ‘New Frontiers or Action Replays’

Together with The Academy of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the event is to be a uniquely designed symposium for students, practitioners and academics, to engage, gather and debate current issues and opportunities in the bourgeoning field of Sports Marketing.

The University has recently launched a new degree in the subject discipline (BA Hons.Sports Marketing) and we currently have had over a 100 plus applications for the course for the next academic year. Some of these applicants have already registered for the event.

The symposium will feature many active researchers and academics in Marketing, Sports Marketing and other relevant disciplines in Events and Marketing Communications. Also in attendance will be many Sports Marketing Practitioners, Agencies, Sporting Organisations and Properties, as well as a number of distinguished sporting stars. Colleagues are free ‘to dip in and out of’ the event as there will be a number of break out workshops throughout the day. Themed workshops on Sports Marketing in Higher Education, Practitioners Perspectives for Sports Students and The Futures of Sports Communications are planned.

Advanced registration is recommended by contacting me or my colleague and organising administrator
Jayne.roberts@northampton.ac.uk

I have attached a draft outline of the initial symposium agenda.

Many thanks in anticipation.
